Penko (ペン子) is a female penguin who works at a bakery near the Polar Bear's Cafe and Penguin's love interest.
Appearance[]
Penko looks exactly like her 7 other sisters. She is similar to Penguin in appearance, but she has a red bow on her head. Llama refers to her as the "slim one" out of her sisters.
Personality[]
Penko is introduced as a kind, docile, and respectful girl who works at a bakery. She's a little dense to Penguin's advances as he goes to the bakery everyday, she assumes that it is because he is in love with the bread they sell there. After Penguin's confession and the mess it causes, she is shown to have a bit of a temper and gets upset when Penguin can't tell her apart from her sisters.
Plot[]
Penguin started falling in love with Penko in episode 2, and learns how to drive in order to try and impress her. He eventually decides to confess to her on episode 15, and goes to the bakery everyday for a week to confess his love and ask her on a date. On the 7th day, he receives a response and finds out that her name is Penmi. However, on the actual day of the date he finds that Penmi and Penko are just two of seven identical sisters that were taking different shifts at the bakery, and that he haphazardly confessed to all seven of them. They end up going after him as a group in anger that he played all of them. In episode 22, he gives each one a different colored bow so that he is able to tell the difference but then gets tripped up when the sisters switch bows.
In episode 30, Penguin is faced with a dilemma of having to choose one of the seven sisters to go exclusive with. They insist that he points out who is who. Even with the bows, he struggles to point out which penguin is which. Noticing that he is going off by the color of their bows again, the sisters swap their bows and shuffle themselves. Penguin eventually states that there is no point in a name and goes on a tirade which the girls admire. The question then comes back up as to who he will choose.
Panda eventually asks what they like about Penguin, and Penko, Penmi, and Penjolina go through a flashback of what their previous date was like. Penko reflects on their date to the amusement park, where she was having a wonderful time on the roller-coaster while Penguin was suffering through it. They all then have a flashback to Penguin asking for all 7 of them to go on their dates together. In the end, they can't think of anything they like about him and they all stop pursuing a relationship.

Penguin develops a crush on Penko throughout the series but since he was too shy to initiate a relationship and had difficulty expressing himself, it became a misunderstanding when he did eventually ask her out. After he realized his mistake, he was rejected by all 7 sisters and continues to struggle with the group.

Penko has 6 other identical sisters: Penmi (ペン美), Penna (ペン奈), Penka (ペン花), Penuelle (ペンニュエル), Penno (ペン乃), and Penjolina (ペンジョリーナ).
- Penka is seen wearing a white bow (which was a gift from Penguin). Llama refers to her as slightly coquettish (flirty).
- Penna is seen wearing a purple bow (which was a gift from Penguin). Llama refers to her as slightly boyish.
- Penno is seen wearing a yellow bow (which was a gift from Penguin). Llama refers to her as a Japanese beauty.
- Penjolina is seen wearing a green bow (which was a gift from Penguin). Llama refers to her as the easiest to differentiate, and states that her beak is plump. Penguin once took her to a fancy restaurant for dinner, but ended up drinking 3+ bottles of alcohol and getting drunk.
- Penuelle is seen wearing a pink bow (which was a gift from Penguin). Llama refers to her as the sexiest out of the sisters.
- Penmi is seen wearing a light blue bow (which was a gift from Penguin). She is the only other sister Penguin has had a conversation with alone (she responded to him asking her out and told him her name). Llama refers to her as the one with the unusually shaped beak. Penguin took her on a date to karaoke once but sang 90's songs nonstop which gave her a bad impression.
Trivia[]
- Penko also has 7 younger sisters as well. They were briefly introduced in the final episode as Pen'eh, Penne, Penho, Penyo, Penyu, Pentleen and Pentrisha.
- All of the penguin sisters are voiced by Sayuri Yahagi
- Mr. Penguin gave them bows to be able to tell the difference between them, but only Llama is actually able to tell the difference between all of them.
